Collection Spotlight: Zimmermann Resort

Resort collections allow us the opportunity to visualize a getaway that consists of soft white beaches, sea breezes and picturesque sunsets while we envelop ourselves in white eyelet cotton dresses, Batik-inspired prints and shield ourselves from the sun in wide-brimmed Panama hats. As indicated by their Resort 2015 collection, apparently the Zimmermann sisters have been fishing in our dreams. With summers in Bali providing the main stream of inspiration, the collection produced a perfect cohesion of flirty florals, structured metallics and precisely designed swimwear that only Nicky Zimmermann could create.

What once started off as a brand of impossibly chic body-sculpting bathing suits, Nicky Zimmermann has shown exponential growth as a designer and in-turn the brand itself has shared in the same maturity becoming incredibly apparent within their latest collection. Continuing with their staples of superbly chic feminine frocks showcasing the best of fashion and function, this time around they’ve also instilled a strong sense of outstanding construction with delicate ease producing Bohemian inspired pieces that provide an appeal that even the most uptown-girl would ache to wear. Paisley eyelet lace patterns swirl amongst culottes, tunics, boxy blouses and circle skirts while flowing silk chiffon draped into dresses meant to blow in the wind along the seaside and sophisticated lattice work appeared throughout the collection allowing for peek-a-boos of skin with the precision of a true artist. One thing is for sure, if this is what we have to take in for Resort, we can’t wait to be blown away come this September at NYFW.
