Le Royal Monceau

Le Royal Monceau in Paris is not so much a hotel but rather a destination; a destination for the artfully inclined looking for that little something exclusive in a getaway. Part of the exquisite Raffles group, the hotel has built a reputation of excellence thanks to is various art-focussed programs and unique packages, not to mention two Michelin starred restaurants.

Starck designed the hotel’s spaces including the spa. Inside expect exposed brickwork, plush carpets and a fine array of unique furniture. The rooms range from intriguing walls covered in mirrors and modern furniture to opulent spaces in soft relaxing tones – you might even find the odd musical instrument to accompany the décor. The Spa My Blend by Clarins again utilises mirrors, curved ergonomic lines and a minimalist white colour palette for walls and elegant furniture. For Team Olivia, these hallowed halls are a must for rest and relaxation during the busy Paris Fashion Week and couture shows.

Le Royal MonceauLocated on the ground floor of the hotel is also Le Royal Eclaireur – part of the famed L’Eclaireur group of boutiques by esteemed trend spotters Armand & Martine Hadida. Part-luxury boutique, part-gallery Le Royal Eclaireur has been modelled on a Royal Monceau suite and offers a unique selection of clothing, jewellery and art. Amongst the hotel’s program of entertainment is the weekly Sunday Night Film Club where guests can enjoy classics in comfort in the private screening room, plus a packed agenda of regular art events from workshops with the kids to playing host to renowned installations. The art concierge will also talk you through the best galleries in town, advising on what’s not to be missed during your stay. The hotel itself counts a gallery and art bookstore amongst its offering and is based firmly in Paris’ art district, on the prestigious Avenue Hoche, a stone’s throw from  the Champs-Elysées, Arc de Triomphe and  Parc Monceau.

During the summer transfers via private car and jet to St Tropez for a few nights are just one of the sumptuous packages on offer. Guests can also now benefit from the private hire of a Jaguar XJ Ultimate or Range Rover SDV8 Vogue during their Paris stay, or enjoy a chauffeur driven ride to soak up the sights at leisure.

Le Royal Monceau provides a plethora of dining and drinking options, from decadent bar areas to a terrace with garden and pool views that shouldn’t be missed in the warmer months, plus the elegant The Viñales Club, a member’s cigar lounge full of books, art and of course an array of favoured and rare cigars. The two Michelin starred restaurants, ‘La Cuisine’ with Chef Hans Zahner and ‘Il Carpaccio’ with Chef Roberto Rispoli should not be missed, offering a sublime tasting menu and authentic Italian dishes respectively.

Le Royal Monceau

In 2013 Le Royal Monceau was awarded the prestigious ‘Palace Distinction’, taking the hotel above five stars, also becoming the first historic establishment in the city to hold the title. Naturally the hotel boasts spacious, luxurious rooms, an extensive menu of leisure pastimes including a spa by Clarins and organised excursions plus an illustrious guest list, but the team at Le Royal Monceau specialise in a sense of customer service that money can’t buy. Emotional engagement if you will.
