Lipstick Sculpture Exhibition

Nothing is more alluring than when people know how to utilize both their beauty and their brains. Thanks to Hong Kong artist May Sum, we have quite the literal interpretation of these two traits combined into one thanks to her unbelievably artistic lipstick sculptures.

As Asia’s first lipstick sculptor, Sum creates intricate 3D works of art fastening them to reflect the image of anybody that is requested through her custom orders. What Sum is most famous for is her collection of fashion’s most inspiring and powerful ladies (Lady Gaga, Coco Chanel and even a miniature Anna Wintour to name a few) made entirely out of the beauty product that until now has only been used to artfully decorate your pout. Exclusively working with lipsticks from MAC, YSL, Max Factor, NARS and Estee Lauder in shades ranging from deep purple to orange and rouge she captures her subjects notable characteristic – from Anna’s bob and Iris Apfel’s glasses to Twiggy’s eyelashes and Mariyln’s ahem, assets – taking anywhere from 10 hours to over a week to create.
