Nature was key for 3.1 Phillip Lim this season – or, more specifically Earth and it’s elements. The designer was feeling “very elemental” this season, which translated to a mineral palate of shimmering earth tones and nature inspired effects. This Mother Nature influence appeared by way of geode embroidered bomber jackets and wood grain-like jacquard. Fringed embellished cropped sweaters, pants and leather jackets added movement to the otherwise structured and clean silhouettes. A mixed leather knee length skirt of contrasting fluid silver metallic and shimmering browns and deep greens was a standout piece, sure to be on wish-lists come Spring.
The elemental details, combined with Lim’s utilitarian shapes, results in a collection perfect for just about any urban safari.
