Once upon a time, long handle bags were banished from the kingdom of department stores and boutiques, and sent to live on the shelves of vintage stores and in boxes kept in dusty attics. Instead of holding lipsticks and hairbrushes, they held memories of shoulder pads and acid wash denim. They longed for the day when the banishment would be lifted, and they could return to the kingdom, reclaiming their rightful place in store windows and display cases. They vowed they would avenge their exile; that their arrival would not go unnoticed. For they heard that fashion was cyclical – what once was ‘out’ would again be ‘in’.
The day these long handle bags have patiently awaited has finally come. As promised, they have arrived with a vengeance - from fluorescent colors to eye-catching embellishments, one can not ignore their return to chic, resuming their rightful place amongst the shiny and new. For the time being…
