Shopping For: One Piece Swimsuits

For most, swimwear is categorized in two ways: bikinis and one-pieces. In my mind, bikinis were actually the only option; one-pieces always seemed one of two ways: either a little boring and prude-ish, or very chic and grown-up. With it latter, I always envisioned them worn with a long, printed chiffon robe, a wide brim straw hat, and lounging by a stunning, mosaic-tiled pool.

Recently, upon discovering I was, in fact, now grown-up, I began seeing a rejuvenation of sorts in one-piece swimwear. Gone are the boring and stale, and in their place emerged an endless range of styles and cuts (some of which certainly throw prude-ish right out the window). In addition to being more figure-friendly, they can also be transitioned from beachwear to appropriate lunch or shopping attire much easier than the bikini. A pair of silk-blend shorts or a billowy maxi skirt is all needed to go from poolside to real-world.

Here are some of our favorite one-piece suits. Sadly, however, none of them come with a mosaic-tiled pool.
