Today being Halloween, having ‘skulls’ on this installment of “Shopping for:” may seem a bit obvious. And though it’s partially true, the fact that it happens to be October 31st is mostly coincidental. It’s because, admittedly, I am a bit obsessed with skulls. Not in a creepy way. Though my dog has a skull sweater. That may or may not match one of mine. OK, perhaps in a bit of a creepy way.
My home décor reflects this, shall we say, fondness, for them. They are placed throughout my living room and in my bedroom, giving the whole apartment a very ‘rock star’ feel. In reality, the extent of my ‘rock star’ persona is taking an extra melatonin before bed, but I digress. It’s reflected, of course, in my wardrobe; scarves, jewelry, and on the occasional shoe or bag, the skull makes it’s appearance in my accessories, accenting my style in the same way it does my home. The key to this aesthetic is ‘less is more’; a throw pillow or candle, a skull adorned bracelet or scarf, will add enough edginess to let loose the inner Tommy Lee that lies in all of us.
