Spring 2013 New York Fashion Week: Katie Gallagher

- By Rebecca Prusinowski -

While wild patterns are all the rage this Fall fashion season, Katie Gallagher’s palette of natural hues like coal, ivory and nude were a breath of fresh Spring air. The minimalist, solid colors kept the eye focused on the body-conscious pieces and their flowy counterparts. We love a pair of summer shorts here at OliviaPalermo.com, preferably when paired with a delicate top and colorful heels. The cream shorts with raised circles were one of the most innocent pieces in the collection but something we could envision wearing often. And then there were her beautiful swimsuits: flattering cut-outs, both classic and cool.

Hair, makeup and jewelry reinforce a collection’s mood, and we were over the moon for the mesmerizing French twists by Cesar Ramirez and the Moroccan Oil team. Elegant with an edge – like the collection itself – each mane featured multiple coils and a buoyant bun up top. In lieu of sparkles or classic accessories, Katie Gallagher opted for white filigree jewelry by Megan Isaacs. Extending from behind the ear and across the knuckles, the jewelry looked like delicate coral and maintained that otherworldly feel.
