Spring 2013 Milan Fashion Week: SW1

- By Nausheen Shah -

We are no stranger to the name Stuart Weitzman when it comes to identifying the man who has been satisfying our accessorized appetite for the last 25 years.  But Mr. Weitzman has decided to raise the luxe bar for us devoted girls and is now dangling a new shiny toy in front of our gleaming eyes and it goes by the name of SW1.
-
An acronym for both the London postal code and Stuart Weitzman 1, SW1 is the new brainchild of Stuart Weitzman restricted exclusively to high-end fashion shoes and accessories.   Making sure he comes out with a bang, Weitzman tapped Alvaro Gonzalez, a 16 year veteran of high-end accessories and former Design Director at Jimmy Choo.

Together, this dream team has brought us the freshness of summer and lightness of youth for their Spring/Summer 2013 Collection.  Wearable yet whimsical, the duality of the shoe and bag designs strike a perfect balance between pragmatism and the fairy tale touches that make a girl dream.
-
Blanketed in bright colors and optimistic extras, the collection exudes earthy hints such as braided snakeskin straps, wooden heels, linen and raw canvas reflecting touches of Continental Africa.  Forms of novelty are cleverly positioned on barefoot wedges and vibrant clutches via crouching golden elephants, dangling monkeys and metal coins details.  And in continuation of this playful mood, SW1 doses us with bold pops of tangerine, hot pink, and bright turquoise contrasted with pastels in the form of baby blue, lemon, and lavender.
-
There is no doubt that owning a piece of this collection will definitely place you in a carefree world where your springtime dreams run wild.
