Every July Miami holds its annual Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, featuring the latest swim apparel. Swim 2015 is full of shapes and styles for all sizes. Trends ranged from florals to athletic to the exotic. This season proved to be more about covering up then baring it all in skimpy separates. One pieces and surfer inspired rash guards were all over the catwalk. Many of the two piece ensembles from designers like Kate Spade, Zimmerman, and Tori Praver had 1950’s silhouettes with modern twists. Prints from Albertine and Suboo were inspired by postcards with scenic backdrops while designers at Jo De Mer and Bela Bunda kept it more graphic. Leather inspired swimwear from designers like Lisa Marie Fernandez was also showed up on the runway. In addition to new trends, new designers also debuted their collections for the first time. Most notably, Kate Spade, famed ready-to-wear and accessories designer, joined the ranks, launching her first ever line of swimwear. The line is true to Kate Spade’s aesthetic with feminine details and vintage shapes.
