After a whirlwind month of shows that began in New York in September and ended last week in Paris, Spring 2013’s trends were all but apparent. There was white, white everywhere, as far as the eye could see; from the ivory to the snow, the structured to the sheer, it seems everyone from Gucci to Ferragamo is having a virginal moment. Prints packed a serious punch with dizzying patterns at Peter Piliotto and Stella McCartney, took on geometric shapes at Topshop Unique and Louis Vuitton, or were striped left and right (and up and down) at Acne and Dior. The lava-like metallics we saw at the Fall shows became luminous and iridescent at DVF and Reed Krakoff. And of course, there were the embellishments. Roll yourself in anything glittering, sparkling, beaded or jeweled, because if Rachel Zoe and Matthew Williamson have anything to say about it, Spring 2013 is all about luxe and sumptuous texture.
